Run for the Zoo Discount

By msequeira

From Rikk Murphy, team captain:

Thanks to all who expressed interest in the Run for the Zoo.  Now it’s time to get registered.

  1. Select your event (e.g. 5K Timed – Adult).
  2. Enter our code:  GOLOBOSUNM19. (see note below)
  3. Press next and you will then be asked about groups.
  4. Select Join existing group.  Our group name is GoLobos.  My name, Rikk Murphy, should pop up as captain.  Select this group and press next.
  5. Provide your name, address, payment info, t-shirt size, average pace (for the 5K only, I believe), etc.

Once you have completed your registration you will receive an email explaining about packet pick up, which is at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center on 12th and Indian School/Menaul.  There will be a shoe store on site if you need new shoes!

The message will also give you information on parking, of which there is little in the neighborhood (I know—I live there).  I strongly recommend utilizing their FREE Park & Ride services or use your free ABQ Ride bus pass.  The 66, 766, 777 all stop just a few blocks from the race start (6th and Copper from the east; 6th and Gold from the west) and scores of buses stop at the Alvarado Transportation center at 1st and Central.  Just consider the walk from the bus stop your warm-up for the race!

On race day it would be wonderful if we could all wear a red Lobo shirt to show our solidarity.

I can’t think of anything else to mention at the moment but please let me know if you have any questions.  And THANK ALL OF YOU who expressed interest which is allowing all of us to enjoy the discounts the zoo is giving us.  Get out there and recruit more Lobos for this event!

NOTE: The discounted prices are good until April 10. Late registration begins on April 11th and all the prices, including regular registration fees, increase by $5.00 (which is still a discount!).
