NCI Webinar on Genomic Data Commons

By msequeira

What:
A webinar to provide a general overview of the Genomic Data Commons (GDC), a data sharing and analysis platform that aims to make genomic data truly accessible to all types of researchers. The webinar will share information about tools and invite questions from the user community.

Why:
In 2016, the NCI launched the GDC.  As one of the most comprehensive data repositories currently available, the GDC contains data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA)Therapeutically Applicable Research to Generate Effective Therapies (TARGET)  together with other major cancer characterization projects.  As an analysis platform, the GDC identifies and implements best-in-class bioinformatics pipelines and develops web-based, interactive tools for analyzing and visualizing genomic data. And since the launch, the size and power of the GDC has continued to grow as researchers are encouraged to submit their projects and share their data with the community.

Who:
P30 members, faculty, bioinformatics colleagues, interested researchers

When:
Thursday, July 25, 2019
12 noon to 1 pm EST
