How to Filter Your Email

By msequeira

Are you electronically buried beneath your inbox? Use Outlook rules to sort your email before it gets to you!

Here's how to set up rules with the right exceptions. The exceptions (see page 5 of the instructions) allow you to choose which senders you want to get emails from.

Make sure to list @unm.edu and @salud.unm.edu among your exceptions.

If you don't include these in your exceptions, then you won't get the emails you want!

In setting up your rules, you can also choose:

  • where you want to store your emails so you can look at them later, and
  • which words you want the rules to act on.
