Funding Opportunity for Two Junior UNM CCC Members

Due June 14 to UNM CCC Pilot Program

The Medical Advisory Board of Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research is soliciting to fund innovative and insightful medical research on the hematologic malignancies.

Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation provides support to junior investigators whose cutting-edge, creative scientific proposals have the greatest potential of broadening our understanding of, and treatment for, blood cancers. The Foundation focuses on projects for cancer prevention, detection and treatment that are most likely to be translated into clinical trials within a 3-5 year period.

The UNM Cancer Center has been chosen to select two (2) outstanding junior faculty members.

  • One Mainstream/Conventional research project
  • One Complementary/Integrative Medicine research project

1-2 page proposals from cancer center members will be reviewed and selected for the best fit of the themes and goals of Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation directives. Please submit to UNMCC-PilotProgram@salud.unm.edu by June 14, 2019, 5:00 pm for internal review by an ad hoc committee chaired by Dr. Alan Tomkinson.

  • 1-2 page application, specific aims, and references
  • PI Biosketch
  • Important: Note if your project is mainstream/conventional or complementary/integrative

The finalists will be contacted if selected to submit full application. Full applications are due to Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation Medical Advisory Board, Friday, August 16, 2019.
