CRF Switch Equipment Replacement

By msequeira

Update:

HSC IT and UH Networking are in the process of replacing obsolete building network distribution switches, which connect building networks to the rest of campus. This is being done in preparation to replace PC switches in the future.

This process will cause interruption in service for wired and wireless network connections.

Saturday, August 19th:  Cancer Research Facility (CRF) - Possible work impacting service will not occur prior to 10 am Saturday.  No work that will cause an outage will occur prior to this.  All systems are expected to be fully operational no later than 2pm Saturday.

Thanks

All:

In an effort to improve network performance throughout the CRF, we will be replacing all of the network switch equipment in your facility(CRF) beginning this coming weekend, 8/19 - 8/20 and continuing next weekend, 8/26 - 8/27.  During these days no network access (wired or wireless) will be available.  As a result, any processes that might be planned that will require network or Internet access will need to be run before or after these days.

Please let us know if you have any questions about this.

Thanks,

Eddy A.
