UNM CCC Pilots: Large, Programmatic Grant Development Program

The primary purpose of this pilot grant award program is to assist groups of Cancer Center investigators in the development of cancer-focused collaborative projects that will be competitive for extramural funding as multi-PI grants such as a multi-PI NIH R01, P01 or SPORE grants. Pilot projects must be a multidisciplinary collaboration between two or more cancer center members that links together existing areas of research strength and expertise within the cancer center and focuses on a problem that is related to the strategic goals of the cancer center and its research programs and clinical working groups. Projects may be focused on the identification of novel targets and biomarkers, drug discovery and/or the development of novel imaging technologies and should have the ultimate goal of improving prevention, detection and treatment of cancers that impact the multi-ethnic populations served by the UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center (UNMCCC).

 

Due Dates:   Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis.

OCRFA 2018 Grant Application Guidelines

Below are three requests for letters of intent from Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance (OCRFA).  OCRFA is the largest global organization dedicated to fighting ovarian cancer. OCRFA advances research to prevent, treat and defeat ovarian cancer, supports women and their families before, during and beyond diagnosis, and works with all levels of government to ensure ovarian cancer is a priority.

 

  1. Collaborative Research Development Grants ($900,000) provide funds for ovarian cancer research projects that involve several investigators within one institution or collaborations between groups in multiple institutions.  Request for Letters of Intent.
  2. Liz Tilberis Early Career Awards ($450,000) are for investigators in their first academic faculty appointment.  This award is open to physician-scientists and Ph.D. scientists.    Request for Letters of Intent.
  3. Ann Schreiber Mentored Investigator Award ($75,000) funds post-doctoral trainees working in ovarian cancer research groups or those currently enrolled in a fellowship program.  Request for Letters of Intent.

Letters of Intent are due April 28th, 2017 and must be submitted via ProposalCENTRAL.  The attached application instructions are also available on the OCRFA website.

UNM CCC Pilots: Off-Setting Grant Cuts Mechanism

The primary purpose of this developmental funds pilot program mechanism is to support UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center (UNMCCC) investigators whose recently funded, cancer-focused external grant applications had significant cuts (cut of 10% or greater) to the requested budget.

UNMCCC Pilots: Early Phase Clinical Research Support (EPCRS) Program

The primary purpose of the Early Phase Clinical Research Support (EPCRS) pilot grant award program is to assist groups of Cancer Center investigators in the development of investigator-initiated, early phase clinical trial protocols. Initiated from the Clinical Working Groups, pilot projects must be a multidisciplinary collaboration between several Cancer Center members that links together existing areas of research strength and expertise within the Cancer Center and focuses on a problem that is related to the strategic goals of the Cancer Center.
