MISSION: Excellence April Forums

Hear from senior leaders about what's happening at the UNM Health System! There are many sessions, with five at Domenici and one at UNM CCC on Monday, April 17 from 7:30-8:30 am.

In order to attend, you must register for the session of your choice via Learning Central. Once you have logged into Learning Central, search “MISSION: Excellence Quarterly Forums”, select “View Course Dates” and then register for the session of your choice. Be sure you select “Confirm” after selecting “Register Now” on the session you choose.

David Peabody, PhD, and Bryce Chackerian, PhD, both Professors in the Department of Molecular Genetics & Microbiology, have been chosen to receive the 2017 STC.UNM Innovation Fellow Award in recognition of their achievements as leading innovators at The University of New Mexico. Congratulations!

Friday March 24: New Monthly Patching Process

Starting this Friday, March 24, please leave your Windows computer ON but locked over the last weekend of each month. HSC IT will apply and install Microsoft updates over the weekend and then will automatically reboot the computers before Monday morning to complete the update process. This process does not apply to Apple computers.

To lock your Windows computer, press the Windows key and “L” key simultaneously. Please keep your computer locked whenever you leave it unattended.

Note: Any workstation or laptop that is not left on over the weekend or is not connected to the HSC network, will begin to receive the latest round of updates the next time the system is powered on and connected to our network. As part of this process, you will see a notification that will provide a 90 minute window prior to a forced reboot. In order to complete the update process, you will need to reboot your system

Congratulations to Dr. Dayao and Dr. Tarnower!

Dr. Lauer announced on Monday, March 20, 2017, that Zoneddy Dayao, MD, has been appointed as the new Outpatient Medical Director and that Amy Tarnower, MD, has been appointed as the new Inpatient Medical Director. Both appointments are effective April 1. Dr. Dayao and Dr. Tarnower will oversee day to day operations and Quality improvement in their respective jobs.

Congratulations to Christina Archuleta and Hope Rivera!

Christina Archuleta has received multiple patient compliments submitted on her behalf.  Patients expressing gratitude for her warm and sweet attitude as well as her being very patient, understanding and caring when helping them schedule their first appointment here. Christina has exemplified excellent patient service, quality, professionalism and respect. Her work clearly has shown that she thrives to provide World Class Service to our new patients!

Hope Rivera has been recognized by her peers as doing a phenomenal job with her mail services duties. She goes above and beyond to investigate any misguided mail and ensures it is delivered correctly. On top of it all she always has a great attitude and is a pleasure to work with!

Mosaiq Navigation Course

Mosaiq Navigation courses are being held monthly. Please notify your staff to register by emailing Mosaiq-Applications-Requests@salud.unm.edu. All courses are held at 9 AM to 9:45 AM in room 1048. From the calendar, select"UNM Employee Events" to search for the next available class.

This course offers the basic navigation of Mosaiq Application to include the following:

  • Setting up the Home screen
  • Adding additional tabs
  • Viewing all patient notes
  • Customizing patient chart tabs
  • Navigating schedules to include daily, weekly views.
  • Changing the dates
  • Customizing the toolbar with shortcut items.
  • Clinician worksheet navigation (Provider related)

Put Life Back in Your Life! The Cancer: Surviving and Thriving Program starts April 4

This 6-week workshop for cancer survivors and caregivers meets every Tuesday from April 4 through May 9, 2017. We will cover topics from fatigue management to working with your healthcare system. We need a minimum of 12 people to hold this workshop and spaces are limited to 20 people so please sign up today!

Parking Reminders

Just a quick reminder of a few requirements in regards to parking at UNM CCC:

  • ONLY Physicians that have been issued a P-CC parking permit may park in the reserved parking spaces “UNMCC Physician Parking ONLY” on the Northwest side of the building and row 13 on the West side of the building.
  • Patients and their escorts are to park in “Patient Parking Only” spaces and do not require a permit.
  • Visitors must obtain a temporary parking permit from the administrative support staff of the department they have business with.
  • Employees of UNM CCC are not permitted to be issued a daily Temporary Parking Permit for any reason.
  • Employees with a valid state issued accessible parking placard, that is issued in the employee’s name, may park in any designated Employee Accessible parking space, or any available parking space in the West Parking Lot that is NOT otherwise restricted by signage (e.g. Patient Parking Only, Reserved, Service or Official Vehicle, etc.).
  • Employees of UNM CCC with a temporary injury may have their physician complete the required paper work to be issued a temporary accessible parking placard issued in the employee’s name and may park in any designated Employee Accessible parking space, or any available parking space in the West Parking Lot that is NOT otherwise restricted by signage (e.g. Patient Parking Only, Reserved, Service or Official Vehicle, etc.).
  • Cancer Research Facility (CRF) employees having business at 1201 Camino de Salud NE may obtain a parking permit from Melanie Hazlett or Julie Gipson and may park in any of the four (4) designated UNMCC Administration parking spaces located in row 12 in the West Parking Lot.

Parking Passes Needed for the West Lot

It is critical that anyone parking in the West Parking Lot of UNMCC — other than patients and their accompanying escorts — have a valid parking permit.

To avoid a parking violation warning, a parking ticket, or being towed, ask your department's administrative staff to provide the permit before the meeting, interview, volunteer assignment or other appointment. Simply email the name, phone number and appointment date, to the administrative staff member. Staff that can issue daily parking permits:
